As a Psychotherapist (LMFT), in the state of California, I see children, individuals, and couples dealing with a broad range of issues such as personal growth struggles, relationship discord, behavioral challenges in children, infertility, grief, parenting/discipline issues, stress, depression, and anxiety. I am also clinically trained to work with victims of crime around trauma (Sexual abuse, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Homicide, Home Invasion, Missing and Exploited Children). My trauma work extends to both Law Enforcement and Fire Department’s involved in critical incident. I am available, as well, to facilitate The Work of Byron Katie.
My main style as a therapist comes from the Cognitive-Behavioral model of Psychotherapy. I believe our behaviors are often shaped by our thoughts and emotions. I have been known to be directive in my approach yet at the same time I remain conscious of not directing my clients to push themselves beyond their own limits. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is extremely important when working on challenging issues. It is imperative that we build a trusting relationship so that we can reach the core of what is unresolved and in need of healing and repair. In my personal life I apply the same techniques and tools I offer within my practice to help my own self along the journey of a fulfilling lifestyle and true happiness. My goal as a therapist is to offer my client’s tools, support, and guidance so they too can move beyond their burdens and experience a more joyful and peaceful life.
